Mayim Bialik Once Said…

Mayim Chaya Bialik was born on December 12, 1975. Mayim is an American actress, neuroscientist, and author. You may remember her as Blossom or as Amy Farrah Fowler on The Big Bang Theory. In 2021, Mayim started a podcast exploring the different aspects of Mental health called Mayim Bialik’s Breakdown (this link is a teaser trailer about what her podcast was going to be about and you can find it on Apple Podcasts, YouTube or explore other ways to tune in by going to the website at bialikbreakdown.com. I absolutely love her podcast and would love to talk with her and explore ideas about mental health… You never know it could happen.

Let’s reserve judgment for people who beat their children, sell their daughters into prostitution, or deny women the right to make decisions about their bodies and their lives. – Mayim Bialik

I have a good bit of judgment for people who beat children, animals, their partners, neglect, rapists, and I could list more, but if you read what I write often enough, you know most of the list of things that I do not tolerate. I do believe that as a woman, we do have the right to make decisions about our lives and our bodies, and I think if roles were reversed, there probably would be even more abortions. As I’ve said before, I do not condone its use as a form of birth control, and I would think that would not be healthy for one’s body to do so.

I don’t want to say everything happens for a reason, but every day is lined up right next to the other for a reason. The best you can do is do each day well with kindness and as a good person. – Mayim Bialik

If there is something that has been an underlying message to my writing, it is that we need to be kind to one another and show kindness and be a good person. For me, I do believe that things happen for a reason… that reason may be unbeknownst to us, but that doesn’t mean that there’s no reason behind it. One of the things that I like about Mayim is that she is a neuroscientist, and what I hope for her is that she doesn’t or never has felt she’s had to hide her intelligence from others. I’ve had to do that at times in relationships I’ve had, and I hated it because I wanted to be myself.

Listen to your baby … there are so many books, doctors, and well-meaning friends and family. We like to say, ‘You don’t need a book. Your baby is a book. Just pick it up and read it. – Mayim Bialik

This is a little something that I’m sure might surprise you, but this works with people, no, I’m not suggesting you just pick people up, but you can read people and figure out what’s going on, and actually listen to them and pay attention to figure out what it is that they are, and also not say. Bonding is very important between parent and child, and they do say a mother knows. I think it goes even further than that because people who are in tune with each other can sense things or use nonverbal signs to communicate.
